Facing the migration question starting from its root causes
Concerning this topic, Minister Nafti underscored the need to further promote the multidimensional Tunisian-EU partnership to face the current challenges, in particular the economic ones, in a way that guarantees the independence of the decision-making process and national policies while respecting the economic choices based on a win-win approach.
Furthermore, the note calls for the need to face the migration question through an approach that is focused on man's global migration, facing at the same time the underlying causes of irregular migration within the spirit of shared responsibility, strengthening voluntary repatriation programs to their countries of origin for migrants who reside irregularly in Tunisia.
The Tunisian Minister also called for the facilitation of movements between the two limbs of the Mediterranean to strengthen the Tunisian-EU partnership in various fields, in particular higher education, culture, trade, and investments and education.
