Two British men have been sentenced for smuggling seven Indian migrants to the UK in the boots of two different cars.

Leaders from the EU want a "strategic" pact with Tunisian President Kais Saied to stem the flow of migration to Europe. Last month, Brussels pledged more aid to the North African country.

Eight people were found dead after their Europe-bound boat capsized off the coast of northern Senegal this week. Many migrants have died or gone missing along the Atlantic migration route recently.

The British government said on Thursday it had been given the go-ahead to challenge the Court of Appeal's decision last month that its plan to deport asylum seekers to Rwanda was unlawful.
