This picture shows the deteriorating situation at the Zawiya migrant detention center, which is located 23 kilometers east of Sabratha in northwestern Libya. The center hosts more than 1,700 migrants, including 200 women, children and infants. Their situation in terms of health, food and psychological conditions is worsening. Authorities say most of the immigrants are desperate to return home as soon as possible and leave this unfortunate place. "We are really struggling to provide the immigrants with some supplies by contacting governmental bodies and international organizations", Fathi Alfaar said, the Chairman of Annaser International Organization for Development and Relief.
"The management of the center is putting in a lot of effort in but there are too many migrants. Libyan governmental bodies stopped providing the center with food and other supplies due to the political and economic situation", he added.
