The child will be buried in the cemetery in Salerno if the body is not requested by the embassy of his country of origin. This is the first time in 17 migrant landings in Salerno that the body of a child has been disembarked. The cause of death has not been made known, nor is it clear whether an autopsy will be carried out."It is a situation of total sorrow that has our greatest respect," Salerno Mayor Vincenzo Napoli said. "We are doing everything possible and we are putting our heart into it," he added. "Salerno always does its bit and there will certainly be other arivals. We are ready, but everyone needs to take responsibility on a global level," Napoli continued. The 991 passengers - 701 men, 118 women and 172 minors - included a boy from New Guinea with a mild bullet wound obtained while he was still in Libya. The episode allegedly took place two weeks ago, and he is believed to have been injured by a smuggler who remained behind. Of the group, 125 people are to remain in the Southern Italian region of  Campania while 125 people will be sent to Lombardy, 100 to Lazio, 75 to Piedmont, Veneto and Emilia Romagna, 50 to Tuscany, 100 to Calabria and Puglia, 25 to Val d'Aosta and Trentino.
