Omar runs a car wash in Tajura, eastern Tripoli. He also provides rental accommodation for his employees, but lately, most of them haven't been showing up at work. "They come to work and then they disappear," he says. "Most of the Nigerians immigrate to Italy, that's why I no longer hire them. Now, most of my staff is from Niger. Many of them started to flee as well to Italy. I discovered that through Facebook," he says, stressing that the maximum period that they work for is six or seven months. "They have the right to leave Libya if they have a better life there and if there are laws that protect their rights," Omar says.
