Death toll on Mediterranean Route continues to rise

At least 70 migrants have been reported dead or missing off the Libyan coast in the past two weeks. Meanwhile, about 3,100 people have been intercepted at sea and returned to Libya.

Record numbers of minors arriving in Italy from Tunisia in 2021

According to a human rights observatory, 2021 saw record numbers of minors arriving in Italy from Tunisia irregularly, more than half of them sub-Saharan Africans. The numbers have more than quadrupled compared to 2017.
