The Ocean Viking rescued another group of migrants from the Mediterranean on Sunday. But the French NGO which operates the ship says Italian authorities hamper search and rescue activities by detaining vessels on questionable ground1

In the wake of the devastating earthquake that killed roughly 2,500 people in Morocco late on Friday, French cities and civic associations have mobilized to bring emergency aid to those hit hardest by the quake. 

Italian Interior Minister, Matteo Piantedosi, has met with city mayors to discuss the problems they face in managing the rising number of migrant arrivals.

Libya's Interior Minister-designate, Imad Trabelsi, has announced the installation of security cameras along the border between Libya and Tunisia. The electronic surveillance system will operate day and night.
