Germany's interior ministry supports the Central Council of Jews, whose chairman said those who disrespect German values should be stripped of their right of abode. It comes as Germany grapples with rising anti-Semitism.

UN experts are calling on the French government to provide drinking water and sanitary services to migrants in the northern coastal areas of France. They said the migrants are living in inhumane conditions.

A record number of over 100,000 requests for asylum were filed in France last year. Albanese, Guineans and Haitians count among the top applicants even though they have little chance of being granted a refugee status.

The migrants who entered were mostly from Afghanistan. Local authorities are trying to stem the flow of migrants with a border wall and anti-trafficking centers.
