Poland's parliament on Thursday passed legislation allowing for migrants to be pushed back at the border. Meanwhile, another migrant has been found dead near the border – the seventh confirmed death in recent weeks.
An Italian court has sentenced a captain to a year in prison for handing migrants his ship's crew rescued over to the Libyan coast guard in 2018. The incident had sparked heated debate in Italy.
The Italian government has announced that there are now 3,000 more spots within its system of reception and integration to host Afghans that have fled their country.
The Polish parliament is debating a draft law which would allow the country to erect a wall on its border with Belarus. The wall is expected to cost a little over €353 million.
